LGBT Pride Month Reception with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi

On Wednesday, June 7th, GLASS joined the LGBT Congressional Staff Association, and Library of Congress GLOBE for a Pride Month reception. The event, sponsored by the Gay & Lesbian Victory Institute, brought together LGBT community partners to celebrate Pride and also recognize incoming students in the Victory Congressional Internship program.

Senator Jeff Merkley and several members of the House came by to join in celebration, and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi delivered remarks.

Special thanks to Samir Luther at the Victory Institute and all our partners for making the event a grand success.

Tim Merritt, Vice-President of the LGBT CSA, presented Leader Pelosi with a rainbow gavel on behalf of the LGBT staff organizations to thank her for her support of the LGBT community and to honor her 25 years serving in Congress.
