Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute Discussion

On Wednesday, November 2, 2011, GLASS welcomed Samir Luther, Director of Leadership Initiatives for the Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute, for a discussion on two keyprograms at the Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute:

The Presidential Appointments Project serves as a talent bank for openly LGBT professionals seeking opportunities to improve our federal government’s policies and processes. Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional, if you have ever considered public service, now is the time to share your expertise and give our community a voice at the table. The Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute’s Victory Congressional Internship is developing the next generation of out public leaders. Each semester, the Institute brings outstanding LGBT college students to Washington, D.C., for an intensive leadership program, including: a semester-long Congressional internship with a member of the LGBT Equality Caucus or a LGBT-friendly member of U.S. Congress to learn firsthand about the federal legislative process.
